Description

The PowerTear™ High Energy Elmendorf Tearing Tester offers a versatile solution for determining falling pendulum tearing strength in materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, woven, and nonwoven fabrics. Designed for both light and heavy-weight samples, this instrument provides fast, accurate results with an easy-to-use, full-color touch screen controller that displays measurements in mN, cN, N, g, kg, oz, and lb. The microprocessor controller can store up to 100 test results and allows the operator to easily switch between 8 N, 16 N, 32 N, 64 N, and the optional 128 N pendulum.

Safety features, including an electromagnetic brake and two-button release, ensure operator protection. The sophisticated rotary encoder and adjustable pendulum balance enhance accuracy and repeatability, making the PowerTear™ one of the most reliable testers in its class. The system connects to a PC via USB, allowing for data storage, batch input, and customizable reports in Microsoft Excel format.

Complying with a wide range of international standards, including ASTM D1424, ISO 13937-1, TAPPI T414, and more, the PowerTear™ ensures high precision and adaptability in diverse testing environments.

Full Color Touch Screen Controller

The new full color touch screen controller makes the instrument even easier to operate while the enhanced unit conversion and results tracking will greatly increase the customer experience during testing. Results are displayed in mN, cN, N, g, kg, oz and lb.

The display shows the sample number and which pendulum is in use.

Microprocessor controller can store 100 test results in the instrument.

Pendulum and weights for 8 N, 16 N, 32 N, and 64 N are included (128 N pendulum kit optionally available).

The use of the optional “E” Pendulum increases the capacity of the PowerTear to 128 N, twice the capacity of many other devices on the market.
