Description
The Pilling Assessment Viewer (PAV) is specifically designed to meet the requirements of BN EN ISO 12945 standards, making it ideal for accurately assessing pilling on fabrics and garments. The PAV conforms to all three parts of the ISO 12945 standard and related test methods, including:
• Part 1: ICI Pilling box method (BS 5811)
• Part 2: Modified Martindale method (SN 198 525)
• Part 3: Atlas random tumble method (ASTM D 3512-96)
Other test methods can also be viewed, including those specified by major retailers.
Additionally, it supports other test methods specified by major retailers. The PAV uses CIE D65 Artificial Daylight for precise pilling assessment, as required by ISO standards and retailers, with an option for Cool White Fluorescent (CWF) lighting when needed. The viewer accommodates various pilling and snagging methods, such as Martindale Pilling, ICI Pilling, Random Tumble Pilling, and more. It also accepts the modified Martindale specimen head for assessments while fabric remains mounted.
