No. 642 Blow Point Tester

When a rubber-laden composite material is vulcanized under pressure, bubbles are generated within the material due to insufficient vulcanization in the final phase of the process.

The blow point stands for the minimum vulcanization level required for eliminating the existence of these bubbles.

To make a product with no bubbles in a shorter time of vulcanization, it is very important to measure the blow point.

The blow point may change according to the composition, mixing method, temperature conditions, etc. of rubber-laden materials. Therefore, it is necessary to make measurements very frequently during quality control of vulcanized rubber, research and development of rubber composites, and other operations.
